mha have initiated a research and development department and are continuously striving to be market leaders in the design of innovative products and services. These R&D projects are often undertaken in conjunction with InvestNI and involve collaboration with tertiary level institutes including Queen’s University Belfast and the South West Regional College.
The SHED project is a study into the provision of emergency shelter for environmental disasters. By using prefabricated elements these shelters can be easily packed and rapidly dispatched to the scene of the catastrophe. These prefabricated structures can then be quickly constructed on site, with limited tools and skills required, to provide a robust and humane living accommodation which can serve it’s users for the short to medium term
