Ballyduff and Monkstown Community Centres

mha were commissioned by Newtownabbey Borough Council in 2011 to undertake architectural and project management services for the refurbishment and extension of 2 no. community buildings in Ballyduff and Monkstown.

These properties had become dated and archaic and mha were tasked with renovating and updating the buildings to be made fit-for-purpose. The existing timber cladding was removed and replaced with fibre cement rainscreen cladding and preformed mild steel powder coated trims which created a colourful and robust facade. Internally the buildings were remodelled to provide additional ancillary facilities including office space and a computer suite extension was provided to the Monkstown centre.
